Ceramic filter - natural barrier for clear, clean water The ceramic filter is the first station in the filter system - just like in nature, when water seeps through fine mineral rocks layer by layer. The high-density ceramic acts like a natural sieve: it retains everything larger than 0.2 microns (0.0002 mm). By comparison, a human hair is around 250 to 400 times thicker. Turbidity, particles and, above all, bacteria cannot pass through these fine pores. This was confirmed in tests carried out by the Austrian Institute of Technology. They showed that:germs such as coliform bacteria, Escherichia coli and enterococci present in raw water were no longer detectable in the filtered water. The ceramic filter therefore provides a reliable first layer of protection - without any chemicals, just the natural structure of the fired ceramic. How the ceramic works - step by step When the water flows through the ceramic, the following happens: The fine pores retain particles, suspended matter and bacteria. The inner ceramic labyrinth also "catches" deeper-lying particles. Thanks to the smooth surface, the ceramic remains hygienic and is easy to clean. The filter works purely mechanically - a physical, safe process. Care & service life To ensure that the ceramic filter remains reliable in the long term: If necessary, clean it carefully with a clean kitchen sponge. Avoid cleaning agents - water is sufficient. Replace the filter every 12 months or so. If the surface becomes visibly discoloured or the flow rate becomes significantly slower, it should be cleaned or replaced. Important note The ceramic filter is designed as the first filter stage.It should always be used in combination with a suitable filter cartridge- this is the only way to achieve the full filter effect of the system.
