Our valuable natural salt comes from the Altaussee mine, the heart of the Salzkammergut. It is mined by hand without blasting and is the most mineral-rich of all natural salts. The reddish-brown colour is due to the exceptionally high iron content. For seasoning all dishes, with every pinch, a piece of health.
Our Austrian natural salt - the Alpen Bergkern - is a rare and precious commodity, which is traditionally mined in the Salzkammergut. Unfortunately, this natural salt is currently not available. The salt vein was no longer able to provide the previously excellent quality that is required for table salt preparation. We are working intensively on the development of new mining sites and we hope to be able to access 100 % of the Austrian product again soon.
In order to be able to offer a balanced natural product in the near future, three top international salts are temporarily blended into a natural salt cuvée, as is also done by winegrowers with their best wines. Our natural salt products consist of one third each of the Alpen Bergkern, Carpathian natural salt and Himalayan crystal salt. All these salts are HACCP certified (quality standard of the food industry) and are regularly tested for their ingredients by German institutes.
